What Crossed My Mind On 1/11/12

As I sat in my room, on a cold day, I could hear the chants of children outside, playing the classic game of hide and seek. It was a thing I would see everyday, but then I thought to myself. I started to remember how lucky we are to be able to go outside, play with our friends and just enjoy ourselves. We are able to leave the comfort of our home, without thinking of any dangers that will cause us harm. We have parks, open fields , and other areas in which we can fool around and enjoy life, without worrying of any threat to our safety.

But what we need to think about now is what about other children around the world? Children that are less fortunate than us. Children, that cannot step out of their homes, without knowing they are likely to see someone get killed or meet strangers that are looking to take them away and use them to their advantage. What about children, who wake up everyday, thinking if they will survive the day? What about the children, who are playing, but cannot guarentee that their next step will not be on an I.E.D? I am talking about the children, of Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Rwanda,  Somalia, Iraq and Iran. The children of these countries, are the ones who we need to remember when we assume that we do not have enough parks, or we dont have enough equipment for our children to play with. Don't the youngsters of these countries deserve a childhood and upbringing like ours? We were very fortunate to live and be brought up in a place like the U.K but does that mean we forget every other person in the world? We need to wake up and fight for every childs rights in our world. If we dont, who will? So lets stand up and speak out. Lets get peace in our world!

Peace is there inside of us, we just need to share it!
